All my life, i have been told i am native american decent. after years on and off searching for information. i have finally found one of probably many links to claim this amazing heritage i have. via my grandmother Dorothy Alice, the Trudel(le) line shows me that one Mary Iciyapewin Trudell is my link. born april of 1816 in Minnesota USA, passed away 28 dec 1911

santee, Knox County, Nebraska, USA.

She was a member of the Mdewakanton Dakota tribe, daughter to Wambdisum Ianyake and Tatekoyakewin.

she married Francis ( Francois Perron dit)Trudell in 1835 and had 14 children. including a Levi trudell (my uncle some years removed) and a peter(1853- 1918) , and joseph (1844-).

Wambdisun Ianyake (born 1790) was an individual whose life is primarily documented through genealogical records. He was married to Tatekoyakewin Ianyake and was the father of Mary Iciyapewin Trudell, among other children. His descendants include his son, Henry Wambdisun, who was born in the Minnesota Territory in 1826.
